Sheriden Emmott - Psychology Assistant
Sheriden commenced her role as a Psychology Assistant at MPS in early 2024. She has completed her Bachelor of Psychology and is currently undertaking her Masters of Professional Psychology.
Alongside her role at MPS, Sheriden also works within the Department of Communities, where she supports families within the wider community. In this role, she works particularly closely with family and domestic violence matters, supporting individuals who have experienced harm, those working to change harmful behaviours, and children impacted by FDV. This work has strengthened her understanding of the complex and far-reaching effects of trauma on individuals and families, including the additional anxieties, ongoing stressors, and broader mental health impacts that often accompany these experiences across many areas of life.
At MPS, Sheriden works closely behind the scenes to support the practice team with day-to-day priorities. Through research, preparation, and thoughtful collaboration, she assists in ensuring that client care, practice processes, and clinical work are approached with compassion, care, and appropriateness. Sheriden has a strong interest in evidence-based practice and is particularly passionate about supporting a therapeutic environment that promotes safety, reflection, and wellbeing for both clients and staff. Sheriden looks forward to transitioning into a Provisional Psychologist role in the latter half of the year as she continues to develop her skills through her studies and work.
